How it works

Five minutes. One question at a time.

01

Pre-readers can practice on their own

One calm question, four big cards, and a tap-to-hear button that reads it aloud in a warm voice, the way real screenings are administered.

  • Narration for K–2, with a system-speech fallback
  • Trophies, streaks and a daily goal ring
  • Celebrations on wins; Reduce Motion respected
A pattern completion question on iPad: which piece completes the design, with four answer choices.
02

Hints before. The reason why after.

A hint shows the thinking steps before your child commits, and you can switch it off. Every answer then explains the rule, and each wrong option explains its own trap.

  • Hints on or off, per child
  • The rule explained on every answer
  • Wrong picks explain what they got wrong

03

Always the right level, never the same question

Five difficulty levels per skill move up or down with recent accuracy. Questions are generated fresh on the device, so one tap serves another like it and the practice never runs out.

  • Adaptive per child and per skill
  • “Try one like this” after any answer
  • Anti-repeat keeps sessions varied day to day

FAQ

Which tests does this practice resemble?

Gifted provides CogAT-style and NNAT-style practice. The formats are modelled on the published category descriptions for those test families, plus a mixed track when you don't know which is coming.

CogAT® is a registered trademark of Riverside Insights and NNAT® is a registered trademark of Pearson Education, Inc. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either company, and contains no real test items.

What does Gifted not do?

It doesn't measure IQ, produce a percentile, estimate a score, assess or diagnose anything, or predict whether a child gets into a gifted program. No practice app can do those honestly.

What it does is make the format familiar, so the questions on test day aren't the first ones your child has seen.

Which grades does it cover?

Kindergarten through 5th grade, six selectable levels. Formats shift with the level: picture-based and narrated in K–2, verbal analogies and sentence completion from grade 3.

Does it work offline, and what data do you collect?

It works completely offline. Questions are generated on the device, not downloaded. And we collect nothing: no account, no cloud, no analytics, no tracking. Profiles and history stay on your device. Details in the privacy policy.

Can more than one child use it?

Up to six on one device, each with their own grade, track, difficulty levels, saved list and trophies, and each is shown separately to the parent.

What does it cost, and what devices does it need?

Free to download. Any optional in-app purchases and their prices are listed on the App Store and billed through your Apple Account. See the Terms of Use. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and on Apple silicon Macs. There's no Android or web version.
