Privacy Policy

The short version

Child profiles, answers and progress stay on your device. Gifted Star has no accounts and shows no ads. The App sends limited app-use and purchase data to Google and Meta for analytics, advertising measurement and attribution.

This Privacy Policy explains how Curioak LLC (“Curioak,” “we,” “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the iOS and iPadOS app Gifted Star, marketed as Gifted: CogAT & NNAT Prep (the “App”), and this website (the “Site”).

1. About this policy

This policy applies when you use the App, visit the Site or contact us about Gifted Star. The App is a parent-facing education tool. A parent or guardian should set it up, manage purchases and settings, and supervise a child's practice. It is not directed to children for independent use.

2. Information that stays on your device

Child profiles, grade levels, settings, answers, practice history, progress and saved questions are stored locally. Curioak does not receive these records.

The App has no account, sign-in, chat, social sharing or content upload. Apple may include local App data in a device backup according to your iCloud settings.

3. Google and Meta services

Gifted Star uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Meta App Events. These services receive limited technical, App-use and purchase event data, including identifiers permitted by iOS, for analytics, advertising measurement and attribution.

Meta may also use this information to target and deliver ads according to its policies and your settings. Gifted Star uses Firebase Analytics without IDFA collection capability.

We do not send child profiles, names, grade levels, answers, question content, practice progress, contacts or payment details to Google or Meta. The App displays no third-party ads.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes purchases and subscriptions through the App Store. Curioak does not receive or store your payment card number or billing details. The App receives purchase status so it can unlock premium access.

Purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and applicable Apple terms. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

5. Site visits and communications

Our hosting and font providers process basic technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site. Curioak does not add advertising pixels or analytics to this Site.

If you email us or submit a support or notification form, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it to respond or provide the requested update.

6. Choices and retention

Delete a child profile: remove it in Settings to delete that profile and its practice records from the device.
Reset progress: use Reset Progress in Settings to clear the active child's recorded sessions while keeping profiles and settings.
Delete App data: delete the App to remove local data and stop future analytics transmission from that installation.
Advertising choices: use iOS privacy settings and Meta's activity controls to manage choices available to you.

Local records remain until you delete them as described above. Google, Meta, Apple and Site providers handle information they receive under their own policies and retention practices. We retain direct communications only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose and legal obligations.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the App, Site or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above when we do.
